My father has been fishing the Brooks River in Katmai National Park (and taking these amazing pictures) every June for the past 20 years. All of these pics are from his trip this year (2009) He spends a week sharing his favorite fishing holes with incredibly large bears that love to catch monster trout as much as he does. This summer, a hungry wolf joined the party and apparently got quite adept at pouncing in with perfect timing to steal the trout right out from under the anglers' as they scooped down to net them. Sounds a bit crazy to me, but the old man loves to fly fish and it doesn't get much better than this. Seems kinda X Games for this 83 year old guy to camp in a tent, fend off the wildlife and fish 20 hours a day. Actually, it sounds pretty awesome and I hope I get to join him one of these years.
